Clergy Testimonies

We have had the Mission Youth here for the last 3 years.  And they have been a positive influence in our parish. They go door to door and invite people to our services. And last year I can testify that they truly brought new people into our parish. I am very happy about that and welcome them with open arms next year and will do so in the future. They have also been wonderful with the children and each year there are more children that come for their Kids for Jesus and we hope that they can continue that also. All in all I think they did a magnificent job and look forward to seeing them here year after year. Father Neil, St. Pius X Parish

Thank you, because you have brought life to our parish. You have brought life to this house. You have brought the young people here to be more active in our parish.  Father Tivy, Resurrection Parish

I am so happy to have had the missionaries here. I know that the people are happy to have you here too, especially those of us who received a visit from you to our houses. I was in my house, when I heard a knock at the door and when I opened the door, it was like springtime on my front porch.  You, youth, are the Church!  You are a breath of fresh air for all of us older ones.  You are like flowers that make the entire place around it beautiful.  All the people have been talking about who you have been for our parish last year and this year.  Keep being the light for our world! Deacon Juan Gonzalez, Resurrection Parish

I must share with you my gratitude and awe at the time you and the other lay missionaries gave to St. Daniel.  We are very blessed to have been the recipients of your evangelizing. Your lay Catholic missionaries already come with some experience and expertise.  The Second Vatican Council reinforces and encourages the apostolate of the laity.  Much ink has been spilled and too many workshops presented on the subject of evangelization, with far too little results in the way of actual souls recovered as a result of the work.  Holy Week Missions provide our parishes with an excellent opportunity to put evangelization and lay activism into practice. And truth be told, the parish spent virtually no money.  I only wish more parishes would welcome Holy Week Missions! My sincere gratitude to you, Mr Pratt, and to all the family missionaries who helped St Daniel. Fr. Gerald O’Reilly, associate pastor at St. Daniel the Prophet

 Missionary Testimonies

My wife, Irene, and I were asked to chaperone the mission at the last minute. My first reaction was, “No.” I was fairly certain that I would not be able to get time off from work to attend, but to my surprise, when I arrived at work a new schedule had been printed and I had all the days off I needed. Irene and I figured God was definitely calling us to do this, and having only one child, we figured it would be a great way to celebrate Holy Week and Easter as a family. As always, God was not out done in generosity. By making a simple sacrifice of our time, God ABUNDANTLY blessed us. It was great to be a part of the missions, and not only did I see the girls receive great graces but Irene and I were extremely blessed. It brought us closer together as a couple, and also closer to our daughter, who was on her first mission trip. I grew to GREATLY appreciate the work of the consecrated ladies, and my fire for serving Christ and His Church was stoked into a full blaze! I could probably write three or four pages detailing my experience as a chaperone on the mission, but for the sake of brevity, I will just end it with a very heartfelt and true “Thank you” to God, The Legionaries of Christ, The Consecrated ladies, and all who worked so hard on planning this Holy Week Mission. Tom Otten St. Peters, MO

I really appreciate these missions, and every year I come home feeling closer to Christ. It makes me want to be a witness at my own home. Laura Romainef

I had an amazing time; I met lots of new people, and felt that we touch many people’s lives. Even the times we got the door slammed in our face it was all worth it because we got the chance to help and bring people back to the Church. Natasha Lovely

We visited a retirement home and I began a conversation with a women. We found out that she was Catholic and that she hadn't been to confession in 13 years. We call a priest and the lady received confession. She later told a group of us that she felt like Christ brought us to her that day and that he was smiling down at her. Christine Center

Well I can truthfully say it was an awesome experience spiritually and definitely life changing. I’d been on retreats and conventions, but there's nothing like missions. It’s awesome to be with girls who are there for the same reason as you, to evangelize about your faith. Sarah O’Daniel
