Hispanic Outreach Focus
One of our greatest objective for the Holy Week Missions is to reach out specifically to Hispanic communities. We recognize the importance of bringing Mexican and Latin American immigrants back to the faith. Cultural Catholicism can often be abandoned upon arrival to the United States and Canada. It is our hope to serve pastors in renewing the Catholic faith in the hearts and minds of Hispanics we encountered during the mission.
In addition, the growing population of Hispanic immigrants has left many parishes lacking for priests and ministers to provide a welcoming environment and make the sacraments available. Holy Week missions respond to this need, offering missionaries who go out inviting people to come to the sacraments and Legionary priests who serve as "additional parish staff" hearing Confessions and saying Masses.
