Start a Holy Week Mission

Mission Youth is looking for individuals who are passionate about bringing Christ's love to others during Holy Week 2009. If you are interested in organizing a mission in your parish or school community, it's as easy as 1-2-3...

1. Request permission from your local pastor!

Mission Youth will provide you with an informational packet in order to present the program to your pastor. The packet includes:

  • Presentation Folder
  • Pastor Letter and Proposal Template
  • MissionYouth General Brochure
  • Sample Holy Week postcard

2. Purchase a Mission Director Kit

Beginning in December 2009, Mission Youth will be offering a Mission Director Kit with all the materials necessary for equipping you to run the missions. The Kit includes:

CORPS Team Training Resource: How to recruit and train a team of people to assist you in the planning and execution of the Holy Week missions.

Course on Catholic Apologetics: Gear up your missionaries with this dynamic six week course offered at the parish or school in preparation for the Holy Week mission. Course includes Facilitator's Notes and Participant Notes.

  • Session One: Spreading the Catholic Faith
  • Session Two: Engaging in Catholic Apologetics
  • Session Three: The Church
  • Session Four: Apologetics Workshop- Evidence for the Papacy
  • Session Five: The Bible

Holy Week Program Guide

  • Daily guides for morning meditations, spiritual talks, and sacraments
  • Explanation of Holy Week ceremonies and themes for home visits
  • K4J Holy Week Kid's Camp (Holy Thursday-Holy Saturday)
  • Apologetic sessions on The Eucharist, Confession, and the Priesthood
